Modern Combat fans can finally rejoice as Gameloft has announced the release date for their next highly anticipated first person shooter “Modern Combat 5: Blackout.” It will be available on July 24th for iOS and Android devices and priced at US$6.99 (approximately AED 26.)
Unlike previous games, Modern Combat 5: Blackout will feature a new unified character progression for single player campaign as well as multiplayer missions. Using kill points, you will be able to unlock weapons, upgrades and advance your character. While achievements can be used for both the campaign and multiplayer modes, the new unified feature will require an online connection always.
Earlier Gameloft had announced that Modern Combat 5: Blackout will have four defined classes of soldiers: Assault, Heavy, Recon and Sniper. The Assault soldier will be an aggressive fighter, effective for medium range combat and come equipped with assault rifles and pistols. The main advantage of heavy duty soldiers is being resilient by being armed with shotguns and RPGs. The Recon is efficient for a fast action close range combat and to expose enemies while the Sniper will always be best for long range combat with a stealth approach.
The online multiplayer will support up to 12 players per match and will have custom options such as capture the flag, team battle, free for all and protect the VIP. There will be a new series of missions called the Spec Ops which will require you to play through specific conditions. Thanks to the new proprietary game engine, new techniques will be used such as the screen space ambient occlusion, which adds detail to shadows and deeper looks for game objects.
Vinu has been passionate about technology since his childhood and loves to explain the capabilities of any product launched. He is very curious about just how far any tech can perform, even if it’s a low-end device. Apart from that, he loves to game with friends and some street photography- “You don’t need to own them to be passionate about it”.
