Dubai hospitals are about to get a shot in the arm as far as technology goes. Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, director general of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has revealed that hospital beds, waiting areas, primary health centres and specialty health centres will be equipped with android tablets.
The deployment of android tablets across DHA healthcare entities is the first step in our plan to build ‘smart hospitals’ that will be integrated with the latest IT technology to enhance customer experience. Customer care is at the heart of the Dubai Health Strategy [2013-2025] and these initiatives are aimed to improve the user experience of patients.”
The apps on the tablets will enable patients to check medical test results, health card details and BMI scores. Parents will also be able to view their children’s vaccination details and receive alerts for every scheduled appointment.
