Microsoft is expected to name Satya Nadella as its new CEO. And according to The Wall Street Journal, Nadella has requested Bill Gates to take up a bigger role in an advisor capacity, noting it's "what I need to be successful."
In a seperate report, Bloomberg News says that Gates may take on a role involviing product development.
Gates has always maintained that he would never return to Microsoft on a full-time basis, instead focusing his efforts on his charity work through his foundation. However, if Gates chooses to accept a more prominent role in Microsoft's product development, it would certainly be an interesting turn off events as Gates is still regarded a true visionary, and might help the company's ailing dominance in desktop and mobile spaces.
