A store in Montargis, France, is under heavy fire (pun intended) after dressing up some of its employees as gangsters to promote the recently released game GTA V. Fake handguns and masks are generally never a good idea when out in public, so it was just a matter of time before people outside looked into the shop and thought it was being robbed.
So of course, police and special agents arrived on the scene armed with real machine guns, and prepared to raid the store. The store manager, seeing the commotion, quickly ran out to explain to the worried police that it was all a hoax, and that he wasn’t actually being robbed. Police were not impressed at all, commenting “It could have ended really badly”.
GTA V is one of the hottest game releases this year, and copies have already been flying off the shelves around the world, with several stores holding midnight launches for the game’s release.
