A report from Digitimes points out that while the general PC industry is in decline, sales of gaming laptops continue to grow at about 10% year on year. Research firm NewZoo point out:
Although the gaming PC industry only has a limited shipment volume, its high gross margins still prompted many second-tier players to enter the market. Another advantage is that compared to the conventional PC industry, there are less competitors in the gaming PC field.
Companies like MSI and Gigabyte continue to see their gaming notebook sales grow while we’ve seen the likes of Razer enter this market with their Blade laptop. Clevo also expects their notebook shipments to grow by 180,000-200,000 units which is roughly 40%.
