Apple’s voice activated personal assistant Siri was introduced back in October 2011 along with the iPhone 4s. The feature is one of its kind & achieved a huge success eventually by getting in all iOS devices followed. Though Siri plays a leading role in lives of millions today, no one really knew (or cared) the real woman behind that voice - Susan Bennett!
Everyone was clamoring to find out who the real voice behind Siri is, and so I thought … what the heck? This is the time.
- Susan Bennett
Susan Bennett started her voice talent career back in 1970s. You can hear her everywhere now; from TV commercials to phone & in-car GPS systems. She also helps directing path at Delta airport terminals. Bennett says the Siri voice was recorded in 2005 at GM Voices on behalf of ScanSoft, a software company that was working on an undisclosed project.
Apple hasn’t said anything yet but forensics expert Ed Primeau, member at American Board of Recorded Evidence is 100% sure that Bennett is the voice of Siri . How do you feel watching Siri in person? Better or Worse? Share your comments in section below.
