Mozilla said it'll release its own launcher for Android in the coming weeks. It will be based on EverythingMe, a recently released Android launcher, with the only preceivable distinction being that it will feature a Firefox browser built-in.
Just like EverythingMe, the Firefox launcher will focus on serving up contextual data and apps based on usage patterns and location. It will also use the universal search, smart folders, and the ever-changing 'prediction bar' of the original launcher.
This is an interesting decision from Mozilla, especially considering they have their own mobile OS. Still, it cannot be argued that Android is the world's most used mobile OS, and it is esstential for Mozilla to be a part of it.
The Firefox launcher will release in a beta state in the coming weeks.
