Although technology has touched a lot of areas in fitness such as tracking your steps or measuring your sugar levels, dumbbells continue to work in traditional ways of being heavier for more exerting workouts. That might soon change if a concept design for magnetic dumbbells becomes a reality by designers Suhyun Yoo, Hongseok Kim and Juhyeon Lee.
Two electro-magnetic rings worn above and below the elbow allow you to adjust the strength of these electromagnets in steps of 3kgs allowing you to chose a weight between 3-24kgs. Many different types of exercises are possible by switching the polarity of electromagnets.
