Panasonic showcased a new kind of lamp free projectors at GITEX 2013 this week. These new Lamp Free Projector series from Panasonic are an alternative to the current short-life span conventional lamp systems with a combination of LED and laser diodes.
The new light sources has a life-span of 20,000 hours – around 5 times more than a normal bulb-based projectors life-span and equivalent to more than 2 years continuous use, without the need to replace a lamp or change a filter. The first generation models of Lamp Free Projector series include 4 models, PT-RW330, PT-RZ370, PT-RW430, and PT-RZ470.
“The Middle East projector market is driven by growing business demand. It is no more a product catering to a niche segment and the market is bullish on the projector demand forecasts. These next generation visual solutions are ideal for Middle East homes, offices and large venues. Our projectors not only incorporate the latest technologies but are competitively priced as well,” said Mr Yuichiro Suzuki, Senior Manager, System Solutions, Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa.
Other benefits of the Lamp Free Projector series include, quickness of image appearing as well as no cooling necessity after use, and this further enables 24/7 operation capabilities. The power can be turned on immediately after being turned off, and it can be turned on/off as many times as you want. There are also a number of eco management functions where power consumption can be reduced by 20 to 30 percent.
Approximately 75% of the original brightness level is retained even after 10,000 hours of use, and as a unique technology from Panasonic the projectors use a built in colour sensor to help maintain white balance in images.
