Widely regarded as one of the best Final Fantasy game in the early series, Final Fantasy VI will be releasing for the iOS and Android soon, Square Enix announced via Kotaku.
Like previous Final Fantasy releases on mobile platforms (and there have been many), Final Fantasy VI will see specific tweaks and improvements to provide for a more refined experience. The game will feature sharper 2D graphics, and the battle system will be updated to negate the need to grind for leveling up, among other things.
“The battle systems have been altered for the other [mobile remakes] for Final Fantasyand VI will be the same. For instance grinding was an issue and people had to spend a lot of time leveling up. Now on the mobile devices the battle systems have been adjusted so you don’t have to fight as much and can enjoy the game for what it is,” said Square director and producer Takashi Tokita.
Final Fantasy VI originally released for SNES in April, 1994 in Japan, and as Final Fantasy III in the USA in October of the same year.
