Dubai has long been a place of great contrast: stunning skylines amidst vast desert dunes, the world’s hottest nightclubs next to traditional Arab souks, and a palm tree island in the middle of the ocean. The Emirate has grown from a sleepy afterthought to the crossroads of the world. And today, things got even sweeter when Uber began testing in Dubai, marking our entry into our first market in the Middle East!
Riz Khan, the famous international journalist and TV hostwas the first person to scoop up a ride in the Emirates. Using his iPhone in Downtown Dubai and requested a ride and in a few minutes his chauffeur Naser arrived in a BMW 7-Series.
At the moment, Uber is offering their UberBlack service which is a limo service. The fleet is made up of Lexus, BMW and Audi cars. The next few days and weeks ahead are more of a test period for Uber as they continue to test and refine their services.
